Financial support with cancer care

We offer advice relating to benefits and grants

Many people who have a cancer diagnosis are concerned about money worries, particularly if their work is affected because of cancer treatment. Here at the Macmillan Centre we can signpost to a Benefits Advisor.  Following these referrals, people can have a full benefits check to see what benefits they may be entitled to.

We also support people on low incomes by applying for Macmillan Grants. These are once a year, means tested grants of up to around £300. If you are on a low income and do not have a set amount of savings, we may be able to apply for a Macmillan Grant for you. This could help towards transport/parking costs, increased fuel bills, or with buying clothes of a different size. Please contact us for more information.

We can also, at times, apply for grants from other charities, and have been able to source some equipment, grants and other items.

At the Macmillan centre, we can also signpost you to regional Macmillan work advisors, for help and guidance around sickness absence.
