At the Macmillan Centre, we have a wealth of free information for anyone affected by cancer. This includes information leaflets on different types of cancer, cancer treatments such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy, finance and the cost of cancer, carer’s advice and support, managing the emotional effects of cancer, physical activity and healthy eating or eating problems, managing fatigue etc. Please feel free to come and browse our information stalls at the centre and take any information that may be useful. We also have Macmillan information pods at Southport and Ormskirk Hospitals, where there are many leaflets and booklets for you to pick up.
Our information stalls include leaflets from other organisations such as Cancer Research UK, as well as local support groups and locally available services (e.g. advocacy/supporting weight loss). We have information in different formats such as audio and DVD formats, as well as in other languages. We can also order further information booklets/leaflets in additional languages or formats (e.g audio/CD/BSL).
You can also access lots of cancer information on the Macmillan Learn Zone website. You will need to create an account which you log into and this will enable to you do some online reading/courses such as ‘Cancer in the Work Place for Managers’, ‘Introduction to Cancer’, ‘Laryngectomy’ etc. You can also order information resources yourself at Be Macmillan.
