Why not come along and join or try one of our support groups at the centre? These are a great opportunity for you to get to know other people who might have had a similar experience to you, to have some fun and to make new friends.
Groups at the Macmillan Centre are open to anyone who has been affected by cancer/carers/friends, as well as other users of the Macmillan Centre. Our groups are:
Singing Group – on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month, in the afternoon from 1.30- to 2.30pm at
Southport Deaf Centre,
19a Stanley Street,
All voices are welcome!
Craft Group ‘In Stitches’ - meets every Thursday morning 10am to 12pm. On the first Thursday of the month, meets at the Macmillan Centre. All other Thursdays, meets at
(Exception: Meets at the Macmillan Centre on July 13th.)
Monthly Walking Group - every first Friday of the month at 1pm. This group meets at different venues/starting points. Please see the additional page (under the 'Support' tab), for more detailed information about our Macmillan Walking Group.
Weekly Walking Group – there is another walking group which meets for each walk at the Macmillan Centre starting at 10:30am on Tuesday; walks last about an hour and go around Southport.
Gardening Group - meets every Tuesday at 10am - 12pm at the Botanic Gardens, Southport. from March - November. Extra session between May and September on Thursday, 2:00pm.
Younger and Middle Age Support Group
Our Move More Co-ordinator, Lucy Holmes, has launched a brand new cancer support group for younger and middle aged adults - approximately 18 - 50 years.
If you would like to be involved, please come along to our meetings which take place on the 1st Wednesday of each month at 6.00pm in the new offices above Southport Macmillan Centre (20 Stanley Street).
